American Friends of the Royal Court Theatre ("AFRCT") engaged B+C to work on a variety of tasks related to board development, fundraising, and marketing. B+C was responsible for coordinating cultivation and other outreach events, researching potential funders and preparing grant applications, and providing administrative support to the organization.
The American Friends of the Royal Court Theatre ("AFRCT") supported the Royal Court's mission by raising funding and awareness of the Theatre in the United States. It granted more than $2.5 million to the Royal Court, providing significant funding and contributing to the theatre's play development program with British and American playwrights. In addition to supporting productions, education projects, and an international residency program, AFRCT organized regular events in New York in support of Royal Court productions and residencies in the US.
The Royal Court Theatre is Britain's leading national company dedicated to new work by innovative writers from the UK and around the world. The Royal Court receives and considers an extraordinary quantity of new work and, each year, presents an ambitious program in its two venues at Sloane Square in London. In recent years, the Royal Court has also staged productions in New York, Sydney, Brussels, Toronto and Dublin. In addition to its high profile productions, the Royal Court facilitates international work at a grass roots level, developing exchanges which bring young writers to Britain and sending British writers, actors and directors to work with artists around the world. The Royal Court Young Writers Program also works to develop new voices with a biennial Festival and year-round development work for writers under 26.
