As consultants to Glimmerglass, B+C works with directors and staff to help advance the Festival’s goals for improving its facilities and advancing its artistic programming through the identification of new sources of funding for both capital projects and annual operations. B+C is also assisting with the growth and enhancement of the Festival’s annual Spring Gala, its largest fundraising event of the year, and prioritizing projects relating to Board development and master plan funding.
Founded in 1975, Glimmerglass Festival is a summer opera festival, presenting four original productions in rotating repertory in its 900-seat Alice Busch Opera Theater in Cooperstown, NY. During its 36-year history, the organization has earned an international reputation as a creative center for the development of rare and familiar repertory presented in innovative stagings. Glimmerglass also manages vigorous educational training programs, engaging 30-plus emerging singers and 60 arts administration and theatre students and post-graduates for its acclaimed Young American Artists Program and Summer Internships program. Glimmerglass is currently expanding its education efforts with the additional of an Artist in Residence program. The annual Artist in Residence will be a renowned performer who will sign a lead role in a production and will serve as a resource for their young singers – offering master classes, repertory and career guidance. The company conducts a range of school-based education initiatives and, in-season, works with over 500 students from area music camps and “Elderhostel” programs on multi-day seminars, backstage tours, previews and performances.
